fringe on the fritz.

many of you had kind words for the baby bird.
sadly, it died.

i'm not sure what possessed me to buy this blanket sweater last year for those winter months which never came. it looked good on the 5'-9" model. but then again, what doesn't look good on a
5'-9" model? i wore it out of the house a few times, but it's just too hot here.

on this day, i was just playing around with my camera and the fringes, but you can see how i actually wore it here.

what were you suckered into buying just because it looked good on the model/mannequin?

  2. I can understand getting sucked into this...but because I thrift I rarely have this problem. Now, sometimes bloggers convince me that I must have certain items!

  4. I actually really like the "blanket" sweater :) it looks really great with the outfit you linked.

I have bought so many outfits off of mannequins its really sad... before I started trying to develop my own real style I used to just buy whole outfits and not really allow for any creativity or thought.

  5. Well, I live in Minnesota so I'm a sucker for anything that looks really warm when its wintertime, regardless of style sometimes, sadly... that sweater would probably be great here :)

  6. Love this sweater! I can't get enough of oversized pieces to layer! I've found layering essential for Hawaii! Especially since I live on the big island, its so rainy!

  11. This fringe is amazing! I think it looks great on you. :) I would still buy clothes on tall mannequins and then I usually just figure out how to make it work on my pint-sized frame later on. :) xx

  23. Hey, thanks for your comment on my post. I'd love to be linked. Those piccys are seriously awful, though. I'll get better ones. I think you should do more challenges and set yourself up with a linky thing like Pretty Shiny Sparkly. Your signature could be mixing patterns and colors....justa thought. Your blog is awesome and so are you.

I dig your photos and fashion divaness (totally made that word up) and want to share your blog with my readers. Your link will be on my blog's sidebar for the next week. Toodles! :)

  41. Too bad it's too hot for it, it looks so cool. It'd be perfect for a cool summer night to sit around a campfire on the side of a lake here.

  42. I love the fringe detail of this sweater. It adds so much interest to the outfit. Hmmm...I can't remember being influenced by something displayed on a mannequin recently.

    ReplyDelete
  43. haha I've probably done that too many times to count, but now I'm a bit wiser b/c I know that they usually tug and pin them into place on the mannequin! I actually like this sweater on you though. It's very giant and cozy looking, with a real vintage vibe.

  44. What does it say about me that I love the cardi? You wear it well! I think the 5'9" mannequin did you a favour! Ha! Love ur style.
